Abate Region 20 March 2017 Newsletter
Gotta love all the mild weather this winter, bikes have been on the road! If
you are going to ride, make sure to keep your eyes open as car drivers won’t be expecting you.
No meeting for Shiawassee.
At Genesee Meeting, no new members or guests.
Secretary and Treasurer’s Reports were read and accepted.
Maurice Hollis, a founding member or Region 20, one time RC and mentor to many passed. It is a sad day for our Region 20 family.
Membership by Audrey: Drop photos to different groups on Facebook about joining
ABATE. Remind people that ABATE worked hard towards getting the Adult Choice
Bill passed giving riders the right to choose about whether or not to wear a helmet. Please try to talk to people at places
you frequent and inform them about ABATE and what we do. If they show and interest
and you don’t feel comfortable talking to them about becoming a member, see if they would like Audrey to contact them. Audrey wants to push membership by putting a business card on the membership brochures.
Business cards will have an invitation to our meetings. Just a reminder to us all, a person doesn’t have to ride or
own a bike to be a member.
L.O. Report by Larry: See Legislative News for full report.
Kritter talked about profiling because bikers are being harassed. If you feel you have been harassed, Jinx needs to
hear about it. Kritter and Larry have forms to fill out that request detailed
information about the traffic stop. Make sure to get these forms back to Larry or Kritter.
